Rosso di Montalcino
“The wine is alive, makes noise, has ist own voice and personality.
When you taste wine it’s impossible not to establish an affective bond with it”
The colour intensity of the of this Rosso di Montalcino D.o.c. produced by Poggio Lucina is the first thing that we notice and also the most explicit. It’s a red that speaks about being young, vivacity and gentleness. A result of a round, structured Sangiovese featuring fresh aromas. In this area of Tuscany, located in the South part of Siena, the Di Donato’s family produces a wine for each vineyard, and only after predicting how the wine will evolve, decides to enhance ist peculiarities blending all the wines in different proportions.
This selection also gives birth to the Rosso di Montalcino D.o.c. Poggio Lucina, which after the vilification ages in barrels, tonneaux or barriques for one year and then refines for 4 months in the bottle. This happens only after the blending method of the Di Donato’s family: they sit at the table and after all the wines are tasted they decide the exact proportion of each one to create a lively, fresh wine to fall in love with.
